The Future of UME.

We would like to share from the perspective of Clergy Executive Couple of United Marriage Encounter as we look to the next 50 years.

Many may be aware a United Marriage Encounter Weekend is the message of the crucified God who emptied Himself for us. A God who is known as love. God’s love is given to us and made known to us through Team Couples who empty themselves through their talks presented to Weekend couples. Team Couples share not from their strengths, but through their weakness and difficulties, areas where they were insufficient, but trusting and loving. This is what frees Weekend couples to open themselves, releasing negative things that can constrict their marriage and makes the way clear for the Spirit of God to resurrect the love they have for one another. We have seen Spiritual transformation come to couples on the Weekend as God uses Clergy and Lay Teams together.

United Marriage Encounter began in 1975 on a firm Biblical foundation that is secure. What about the next 50 years? The world has changed, our culture and technology have changed, and the next generation of energetic, fresh and young Clergy and Lay Team Couples will have their stories to tell.

In 2022 we introduced the thought: there is a paradigm shift happening for UME; an important change. A change that happens when the usual way of doing or thinking about something is replaced by a new, innovative and different way. Many changes have taken place in the last three years.

What will the next 50 years look like? Only God knows, but He knows the plans He has for UME. And as long as the foundation remains secure upon His Word, we can trust the process because the best is yet to come!
