The Lineup: Our Favorite Apps to Support Your Marriage 📱

Updated: Feb 17, 2024

Yes, you read that correctly, we've got a list of apps - and how to best utilize them- to support your marriage.

While most of us aim to put down the phone and be as present as possible with our spouse, the reality of being married in today's world (see what we did there? 😉) is that technology - specifically our smart phones - are a big part of it. So, without further ado we give you some of our favorite apps for marriage!

Spotify

Spotify (or other music apps like Apple Music and Pandora) are, of course, great for keeping your favorite tunes at the touch of your fingertips. Create playlists of your favorites, for special occasions or love songs and share them with your spouse. Let Spotify suggest songs based on other things you like to discover new music. If it suggests something that makes you think of your partner, send it their way! We bet it makes their day!

Additionally, you can also easily access other resources such as podcasts via Spotify. Find and share podcasts on any variety of topics to help support you in your marriage. You'll find tons of podcasts as resources directed specifically at marriage as well as tons of other topics to support you. Need marriage podcast recommendations? We've got you covered here!

A Finance App / Money Management

As a married couple, family finances are always topic of conversation. No matter how you and your spouse choose to manage your accounts, consider having your bank's specific app or a money management app like PersonalCapital, Mint, Everydollar, or Honeydue (an app specifically built for managing money with your partner).

Calendar

Stay on the same page as your spouse! No matter what smartphone you use (or even if you are die-hard committed to your paper wall calendar), it can save a lot of headache and time to utilize your calendar with your spouse.

Consider creating a calendar specific to the two of you where you can both add shared events (date nights, family gatherings, etc.), shared responsibilities (think kid pick up, church events), or things you'd want the other to be aware of (working late, for example).

We know many couples who say it's helpful for the "situational awareness" of the family, but also for saying on the same page because it limits miscommunications around scheduling which ultimately leads to smoother days, weeks, and marriages!

Merge

In a similar vain to the calendar, Merge is an app specifically designed to help couples organize their shared tasks and plans. From specific to-do lists (think: chores, hosting a party, Christmas shopping for the family) to grocery shopping lists you can both add to, Merge will help you get on the same page in real-time. Add tasks, check-off to complete (that's so satisfying!), and set reminders to keep you up-to-date and on-task even in your busy lives!

Plus, you can organize your lists and tasks by type of task, partner it's assigned to and more! It's perfect for couples who are busy, on-the-go, and want to stay on top of their lives and tasks together!

Agape

Agape is an app designed to help bring you and your spouse closer together and spark meaningful conversation. Each day, the app sends you and your spouse a thoughtful question. You both answer via the app and after both responses are submitted, you'll see each other's response. Not only does Agape help you have conversations out of your day-to-day topics, but it keeps you connected even when you're not together and supports you in growing closer to your spouse.

Have other apps you and your partner love together! We'd love to hear! Share with us on Facebook or over on Instagram!
