United Marriage Encounter shines with life, light and hope offering couples who attend a Weekend anywhere in the world the opportunity to be transformed and empowered to have a healthy marriage relationship.
John tells us in the first chapter of his gospel, Jesus is our life and light. When we as couples place Jesus at the center of our relationship, the darkness will not be able to overpower us. We are living through one of the strangest and darkest times in recent history. Marriages and families are being impacted by our culture, education system, politics, economics, identity crisis and the list goes on.
In times such as these, how pivotal it is to remember this fact. Jesus brings light into the world, and though the world is full of darkness it has not overcome His light. In the end, there is hope. Christ will prevail.
On UME Weekends couples are encouraged not to pattern their relationship after the world. Couples learn to communicate openly and honestly with each other and with God. With this new hope, their couple relationship shines. Marriage is a witness to the world of what it means to be in Christ. A healthy thriving relationship is not just so the couple will be “happy”. Each couple is called to shine by offering hope, light and life to those around them.
Couples leaving the UME Weekend begin impacting their children, families, churches and
communities as they reflect their renewed relationship. When people see the glow, new joy, energy and vitality for life couples have after attending a Weekend, they want to know their secret.
You as a couple have been called to make a difference. You will make a difference by allowing the love of Christ to shine through you to those around you.
