Letter From Steve & Pam Chapman:
Pam and I are so grateful for Jerry and Carol. I was the new Executive Director, with no clue of the journey that God had planned for this ministry and for Pam and me. Jerry and Carol agreed to join the UME-MESF board in 2015, unaware that God had prepared them for their adventure. Shortly after their acceptance, Dave and Jeanie Stanley passed away, leaving a gigantic crater to be filled. Dave was the Treasurer for the Board, Jeanie the Secretary (however, Dave had all the history, the whys, the whynots locked in his head and on his laptop). Dave and Jeannie also chaired the WORC (Weekend Outline Review Committee), which held the keys to UMEs Weekend Experience. Carol gracefully slipped into the Secretary role with unending professionalism and care. Jerry served as Interim Treasurer until an election could be held, and they both took on the WORC. Seamless is what I would define as the work they did. Their eye for detail and heart for the ministry were consistent gifts, even if some days the Executive Director failed to appreciate it. Jerry and Carol were a significant pillar for UME during that time and continue to use their gifts helping marriages as an Administrative Team couple and WORC Chaircouple. (2026).
