About the Couple
John and Jeanetta Ma were married on the 15th of June, 1974, and Encountered on March 7th, 2003. Over the course of their involvement with UME they have faithfully served as International Board Members, Financial Couple, Prayer Scroll Couple, Team Couple, and Weekend Coordinators.

Pam and I first met John and Jeanetta at the Aloha Weekend in 2011. We were part of a Lay Team, and they served as the Host couple. Little did we know how influential they would become in the next chapter of our lives. The following year, in 2012, they joined us on the UME-MESF Board of Directors while Pam and I held the position of Executive Couple. It was such a blessing; they quickly became integral members of the team that God was assembling to move the ministry in new directions and bring a new order of business.
John and Jeanetta took on the challenging task of our Executive Director search, dedicating countless hours and managing a multitude of resumes. Unfortunately, their efforts did not yield the desired results, and they ended up hiring me as the Executive Director. However, their commitment didn't end there. They helped craft changes to enhance the Weekend Experience, assisted the ministry in navigating COVID in 2019, and led the Aloha Community with integrity and love. They have generously given their time and financial resources, serving in various capacities whenever needed. At this time, they will leave the UME-MESF Board but will continue their leadership as an Administrative Team Couple and a light in their Community for many years ahead....when they are home.
John and Jeanetta have graciously hosted many couples in their home, providing island tours, introducing them to new foods, and ensuring they feel welcomed. ALOHA! A special thank you from Steve and Pam Chapman for your service on the Board and your friendship.
