About the Couple

Seven years into our marriage, we found ourselves standing on the edge of divorce. The love we once shared was distant, buried beneath years of hurt, misunderstanding, and disconnection. We were desperate for change, yet unsure where to turn, until God led us to a UME Weekend.

That Weekend became the turning point of our story. We learned to listen without judgment, to forgive with grace, and to love with intention. It wasn’t an instant fix, but it was the beginning of healing.
Our continued and growing involvement in the UME ministry helped keep the lessons, skills, and tools we learned during our Weekend at the forefront of our minds. By surrounding ourselves with other couples who care deeply about strengthening marriages, we found constant encouragement and accountability. In sharing this mission with others, we have discovered that our own marriage continues to grow even stronger - rooted in faith, service, and the ongoing reminder of God’s transforming power.

Now, eleven years after our original Weekend, we can joyfully say that our marriage is thriving. The love we once thought was lost has been rebuilt on a foundation of faith, communication, and God’s grace. We give all the glory to God for transforming our lives and our marriage. Our prayer is that our story will inspire other couples to seek God’s healing power and discover, as we did, that with Him, there is always hope.
