Hello United Marriage Encounter Family!
As I reflect on my year of working for Marriage Encounter, I am reminded that God continues to surprise me with new places to belong - and that certainly includes UME. God has wired us for relationship: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Being seen and known by others requires us to risk our comfort and be vulnerable, revealing who we really are. In return, though, we can gain rich, life-giving relationships where we have a sense of belonging among others who help us live out our God-given purpose. I think belonging is a good word to summarize the UME Family. On behalf of the Marriage Encounter Staff, I hope that this issue both prompts you to reflect on your sense of belonging to UME and encourages you to risk your comfort and vulnerability in order to increase the sense of belonging for you - and others too.
